Sophie Blais, CFP, CHS

President & Chief Compliance Officer

I build businesses, develop leaders, and spend most of my time working in the reality of what it actually takes to make things run. As President of the WealthCo Group of Companies, my focus is on execution—aligning people, priorities, and systems so the business can scale and perform. I believe leadership has less to do with titles and more to do with what happens to the people around you.

The strongest organizations aren’t built on ideas alone—they’re built on clarity, accountability, and consistency. A large part of my work is working with advisory firms to build and scale integrated wealth practices—bringing structure, alignment, and accountability to how they operate and serve their clients—primarily business owners and high-net-worth families.

I’m also deeply committed to developing leaders and helping teams operate more effectively by understanding how people naturally take action, where friction shows up, and how to create alignment without forcing sameness. I care about building environments where people can operate at their best and where the business can perform.

Question & Answers

  • My path wasn’t exactly linear.

I originally planned to go into law after my Bachelor of Commerce, wrote my LSATs, and then decided I didn’t want to spend another few years in school.

From there, I moved into Health Care Management, and eventually into financial services.

What kept me here was the pace, the complexity, and the opportunity to build something that actually makes a difference.

  • The people—without question.

There’s a strong sense of ownership and accountability across the team, and people genuinely care about what we’re building. There’s also a lot of laughter along the way, which matters more than people think.

  • Travel is definitely a big one.

I’ve spent time in Europe and would love to go back and live there again for a period of time. Japan, Vietnam, and India are also high on the list.

Beyond travel, there are a few things I’d like to come back to or try for the first time—learning another language, getting back into community theatre, and just making space for things that are a bit different from the day-to-day.
