WealthCo. Group of Companies has been monitoring the developments of Covid-19 and the potential impact to our business and our clients. While the risk is considered low in Calgary, it’s important that we communicate effectively to our partners and clients that we follow all Federal Guidelines regarding Business Continuity Planning. In the event the situation changes within Calgary, ensuring the safety of our team and continuity of service to our clients and partners is our main priority.
Business continuity planning (or business continuity and resiliency planning) is the process of creating systems of prevention and recovery to deal with potential threats to a company. In addition to prevention, the goal is to permit ongoing operation, before and during execution of disaster recovery.
The Importance of a Business Continuity Plan
It is important to not only have a Business Continuity Plan (BCP) in place but to also test it to ensure that WealthCo can respond effectively to a Significant Business Disruption (SBD) by safeguarding information, quickly resuming business operations and protecting clients and corporate books and records.
In order to ensure a business is prepared to work outside of normal constraints such as an office environment, the WealthCo BCP, and yearly BCP drills can help us prepare ways in which we can continue to work efficiently to deliver a high quality of service to our clients.
Potential Risk for a Significant Business Disruption
Natural disasters (e.g. flood, fire, blizzards)
Infrastructure incidents (e.g. loss of computer, phone, power)
Power & energy disruptions
