FINANCIAL ANALYST

CALGARY, ALBERTA

The key focus for our Financial Analyst will be providing proactive advanced analytical support to the Portfolio Manager. You will foster strong working relationships with our internal and external clients and leverage exceptional technical skills to optimize internal processes and drive efficiencies. You will prepare and present insights based on analyses of key metrics, quantified risks and opportunities as well as perform regular financial reporting, forecasting and planning. 

You will support the company’s goals and objective by:

  • Analyzing financial data by collecting, monitoring and creating financial models

  • Analyzing results, monitoring variances, identifying trends and making recommendations 

  • Providing information to the portfolio management team by assembling and summarizing data; preparing reports; making presentations of findings

  • Perform strategic and scenario analysis to determine present and future investment performance

  • Assists the Portfolio Manager in research and analysis of portfolio holdings as well as financial modelling

  • Preparing reviews of the performance of holdings that WealthCo has invested in, including investment research and financial analysis

  • Monitor, retrieve and review company notes, current news and research reports pertaining to portfolio holdings. Using discretion and judgment to elevate critical news and reports or time sensitive information to the PM

 

Successful candidates will require:

  • University Degree or equivalent related experience

  • 3-5 years of progressive experience in a finance role in a fast-paced environment

  • Level I CFA or CIM designation required, with the ability to register as AAR

  • The capability of prioritizing and managing many projects and adhering to tight deadlines

  • A good understanding of business fundamentals and growing financial acumen

  • Expert excel skills with the ability to efficiently handle large data sets and concisely present and summarize for our Leadership Team

  • Strategic mind set who can drive business initiatives and deliver insights

OPERATIONS ANALYST

CALGARY, ALBERTA

WealthCo is currently seeking an Operations Analyst for an 18-month term, who will be an exceptional addition to our head offices in Calgary, Alberta. The Operations Analyst (OA) is responsible for data integrity within the firm.  This successful candidate will be our key technical contact and will support the team to deliver an exceptional client experience. With a keen attention to detail and an understanding of how important accurate reporting is for our client’s, the OA will provide both technical, reporting, and trouble shooting support to the team.  This role will also be responsible for projects as they pertain to our data and reporting systems. The OA supports the WealthCo Team in achieving business objectives and goals reporting directly to the COO.

 

 

You will support the company’s goals and objective by:

 

  • Increases effectiveness and efficiency within the firm through maintaining data integrity

  • Work with our back office (Custodian) support teams 

  • Manage and maintain scheduled reports

  • Key liaison with our data solution providers

  • Works collaboratively with members of the team to provide data required for KPI reporting

 

Successful candidates will require:

 

  • Bachelor of Commerce (not finance) Bachelor of Science, B.Math (CFA not desirable), or IT Specialist

  • 2 - 5 years data management and reporting experience

  • Advanced IT skills as it pertains to data management 

  • Demonstrated advanced proficiency in Microsoft applications including advanced skills in Excel or Access

  • Demonstrated ability to perform quantitative analysis and function independently and with a high degree of accuracy

  • Adept at computer applications and embraces new technology

  • Ability to work in multiple operating systems

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Highly organized and results oriented with demonstrated flexibility

  • The capability of prioritizing and managing projects and adhering to tight deadlines
